Villa Manifesto is the sixth studio album by Detroit hip hop group Slum Village. It was released on July 27, 2010, via E1 Records. Villa Manifesto serves as both a reunion and a memorial album. Two late founding members of the group (Baatin, J Dilla) will appear posthumously as main artists of the album alongside T3 and Elzhi. Illa J, J Dilla's younger brother, is also featured on the album as well as production from Young RJ making it the first Slum Village LP to feature all six members.

Villa Manifesto is the sixth album by Slum Village. It was released on July 27, 2010. Two late founding members of the group (Baatin, J Dilla) will appear posthumously as main artists of the album alongside T3 and Elzhi, and Illa J, J Dilla’s younger brother, is also featured on the album, making it the first Slum Village LP to feature all five members. Bare Witness (with DJ Babu).

Slum Village didn't deserve to go through so much shit. They had an underground classic debut, Fan-Tas-Tic Vol. 1, that most people outside of Detroit couldn't even hear until nearly 10 years later. Their potential major-label big break, Fantastic Vol. 2, went into two years of stasis after A&M was bought out by Universal. Except that late last year, Slum Village released the Villa Manifesto EP- not just as some collection of outtakes and scraps, but as a precursor for an entirely new album. And unlikely as it might seem after all that the group has gone through, the full-length actually picks up more or less where they left off in 2005.

I am one of the biggest Slum Village fans out here and I must congratulate them for putting together another staple album. After all the controversy (the passing of Baatin, the breakup of the group) it makes you wonder what this album would've sounded like if Dilla was on the boards for the entire project. The 3 main mc's (Baatin, T3 & Elzhi) sound as fresh as ever with the occasional cameos from original member Dilla and newcommer AB, but you get the sense that sometimes they were not paired with the right beats.

With the release of Villa Manifesto came rumors that it would be Slum Village’ s final album. Following the death of Dilla in 2006, T3 stopped making music completely. After a significant mourning period, he reluctantly continued on, only to see his remaining founding partner, Baatin, a recovering schizophrenic, fall prey to the same fate during the recording of Villa Manifesto in 2009. Slum Village was put to rest with no expectations of re-forming before T3 decided that his musical brothers would want him to carry the torch
