Let It Die is the second album by Canadian singer-songwriter Feist. It was recorded in Paris during 2002 and 2003 and released in 2004. The album combines jazz, bossa nova and indie rock. Let It Die was welcomed as one of the best Canadian pop albums of 2004. It was nominated for three Juno Awards in 2005, and won two: Best Alternative Album and Best New Artist. A track from the album, "Inside and Out", was nominated as Single of the Year in the 2006 Juno Awards

Her first album 'Let It Die', is produced by Renaud Letang & Gonzales. Feist has been Gonzales' fellow for years. Part of the Canadian collective band, Broken Social Scene, Gonzales convinced her to come to Paris to record this first album. The journey started in an out of time, out of norm atmosphere, whose lush grooves are offset by a thoroughly enjoyable live performance, with members of the Germany via Toronto Kitty-Yo crew such as Peaches, Gonzales, & Taylor Savvy. The flavour of Feist's music isn't the sort that sets off fireworks and sets you raving about how much fun it is. "Let It Die" is the sort of album that is periodically hailed as being the real deal - no studio tricks, little musical polish, and a reliance on good songwriting and tunes rather than hooks. In other words, pure music. The star of the music is Feist herself; her vocals are front-and-center, and she proves herself a rare kind of singer.

Following up 1999's self-released Monarch, Let It Die was recorded in Paris between 2002 and 2003. The romance of the City of Lights glows throughout as a combination of folk, bossa nova, jazz-pop, and indie rock finds its place among the 11-track song list. She'll woo you with her sultry vocals throughout, a delicate and sweet voice that feels cozy. From the warm shimmy and shake of "Gatekeeper" and "Mushaboom" to the classy R&B grooves of "One Evening" and "Leisure Suite," Feist explores various musical worlds without getting lost

Revisiting her sophomore album, "Let It Die," gave Feist the chance to give the album art new life - in more ways than on. There’s a lot to love about the release, what with 180 gram seafoam green vinyl and an original art print by Santiago Carrasquilla. However, the most striking component might be the reimagined cover artwork.

Feist is reissuing her 2004 album, Let It Die. The album has been out of print for a little while, its previous pressing in Europe having been in 2012, while the last Canadian pressing was in 2009. On September 6, Vinyl Me, Please will release the album as its Album of the Month on heavyweight seafoam green vinyl. The reissue will also feature new cover art designed by Heather Goodchild. The album was recorded in 2003 and 2004 with Chilly Gonzales and Renaud Letang. More info about the reissue can be found here. Feist’s last album was 2017′s Pleasure. Feist Let It Die tracklist: 1. Gatekeeper.

Released May 18, 2004. Let It Die Tracklist. 1. Gatekeeper Lyrics. In early 2004, Leslie Feist self-produced seven songs that were never released, called The Red Demos.

Nearly five years removed from that debut, Let It Die finds Feist in a radically different state of mind, completely abandoning her guitars-and-strings indie rock shorthand in favor of folk, jazz, French pop, and disco accoutrements. While her propensity for serial genre-hopping makes it difficult for the album to congeal into a whole (Let It Die's scattered closing trilogy comprises covers of songs by Ron Sexsmith, The Bee Gees and 1940s vocalist Dick Haymes), it is nonetheless held together by her wistful song selection and an airy, summery aesthetic.
