Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album, Volume 3 is the fourteenth soundtrack album by the cast of the American musical television series Glee. It features six songs from the fourth season and four bonus songs. It was released on December 11, 2012. The album debuted at number 20 on the US Billboard 200, and in its second week, the album fell to number 54, selling 25,000 copies.

And yet, the first of two full-length soundtracks planned from season one (augmented by weekly EPs with music from each episode) strays 40 years into the future, putting new songs by country singer Sturgill Simpson, Icelandic rockers Kaleo and Rock Star: INXS contestant/Vintage Trouble frontman Ty Taylor alongside period jams by the Dolls (re-recorded by singer David Johansen), Otis Redding, Foghat, the Edgar Winter Group and the Meters, among others.

Hippie: Music from the '60s Generation. Designed to tie in with Hippie, The Book, Hippie: Music From the '60s Generation certainly evokes the '60s, but some of the track selections seem a bit far away from the Haight-Ashbury aesthetic. Sure, hippies might enjoy the thought of Arlo Guthrie "bringing in a couple of keys," but Joan Baez and John Sebastian? Their songs are pure East Coast folk, not hippie anthems. The Butterfield Blues Band did flirt with psychedelia on East-West, but "Shake Your Moneymaker" is pretty straight blues and not psychedelic in the least.

Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968. In summary, a fun album for reminiscing, but students of psychedelic history will want to dig deeper. 3 people found this helpful. 2 people found this helpful.
