While never a star in his own right, pedal steel guitar player "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow, who has died aged 72 after suffering from Alzheimer's disease, graced the recordings of a galaxy of big names from Frank Zappa to Stevie Wonder with rich textures and helped pioneer the Los Angeles country rock sound.
