JOHN G. PERRY is a Canterbury Scene, Progressive Rock artist from United Kingdom. PERRY released his first solo album, "Sunset Wading" (with Rupert Hine and a slew of guests), in 1976. Canterbury new age is the best way I can describe it, with some jazz fusiony textures. It's very impressive and introspective!
The album has been re-mastered by Hine's long time friend and sound engineer Stephen W Tayler, who had recorded, mixed and co-produced the original albums. To recognise the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday in July 2015, the Art of Peace Foundation commissioned Hine to produce Songs for Tibet II, to celebrate and honour the Dalai Lama's vision. The album's primary gimmick is that throughout the background of its entire 40-minutes runs an ambient field recording of a rural sunrise, beginning with the first rooster crow of the day. (Why an album with an early-morning theme like this has the word "Sunset" in its title is never adequately explained.
