Repress of a cool italo classic on Dark Entries. Each copy includes an insert with lyrics, photos and liner notes by Ricky Persi. Big Ben Tribe are a trio formed in Trieste, Italy in 1983. The line-up is: Ricky Persi (bass), Stefano Previsti (computers and drum machine), Renato Posani (guitar & . ). Their name is taken from the Disco Club 'Big Ben' in Trieste, the place where Renato Posani worked every night. 'Tarzan Loves The Summer Nights'' was recorded in Milan in the Spring of 1983 and released on Gong Records in 1984. Guest vocalist Clara Moroni softly sings about a romantic jungle dream adventure where she is living with the handsome and brave Tarzan. Strong LinnDrum percussion serves as a counterpoint to the infectious vocal melody and catchy synth hooks. The B-side features an instrumental version with extended breaks and dubbed out bass lines.

Talk about Big Ben Tribe - Tarzan Loves The Summer Nights

Zacki
Nice sound quality - I've compaired the sound on this reissue with the original record and the result is nice. Good work.
Hulbine
What on earth are you talking about? No one wants some crappy edit or remix of this Italo masterpiece! They want the original versions without shelling out a small fortune.
Tenius
Argh what a pitty another boring one to one copy. Once again a completely useless/pointless release. Now everybody wants and cares about new remixes, remakes and edits adding extra value to the original - this makes the italo fans happy. Please understand that people simply don’t want a one to one repress of the original release (vocal and instrumental) – if this was the case they would of cause just go and buy the original release. That’s logic for everyone! A wasted opportunity.

George Horn did an excellent and gentle remastering job on this reissue. Compared to the original, there's a touch more bass, the closed hi-hats are much more in the foreground and are more dynamic, and the A-side's outro is less loud. Everything is just as crisp as before; no clipping, no distortion. For now, the 12" is still in stock at the label's website, so you can get it for a fair price, only $15 with shipping within the U.S. The informative insert with photos and a message from Ricky Persi is a nice addition, and I was surprised at the high-quality poly inner sleeve, so it's a great value. The record does come shrink-wrapped, which is a reason for a nitpicky complaint: the outer sleeve isn't stiff enough to withstand the shrink-wrap without crimping a little, so although it was otherwise well-packed, my copy arrived with some very minor creasing on the corners and edges. Also, the vinyl quality is not bad, but not great, either, with a bit more background noise than I'd expect on a modern pressing. But the music is by far what's most important, and you can't beat the price for a clean vinyl copy of this moody gem. By this time next year, it'll probably cost twice as much!

Interesting. I didn't save a clip of the groove noise before the music starts playing, but hare are some clips from near the beginning and end of side B: clip 1 + clip 2 (these are FLACs). This is after taking the record out of it sleeve for the first time, putting it on the deck and recording it with a Jico stylus that was used less than 5 hours. I recorded side A first, so side B may have picked up dust, but even ignoring the grit, there's (to my ears, anyway) some "roughness" to the roar of vinyl rushing past the needle, just barely audible under the music. Still, this is quite the nitpick on my part... overall it sounds fantastic and I'm not the least bit sorry I bought it.
Nafyn
My copy has no background noise.
