Doctor Ross (October 21, 1925 – May 28, 1993), also known as Doctor Ross the Harmonica Boss, born Charles Isaiah Ross in Tunica, Mississippi, was an American blues singer, guitarist, harmonica player and drummer. Ross's blues style has been compared to that of John Lee Hooker and Sonny Boy Williamson. His recordings for Sun Records in the 1950s include "The Boogie Disease" and "Chicago Breakdown". Within the lyrics of "The Boogie Disease", Ross notably sang "I may get better, but I'll never get well".

Boogie Disease are a UK Rockin blues 5 Piece band who have managed to merge Blues with a neo rockabilly beat and I Love it!. With 13 tracks this album is a winner, it’s a blend of covers and self-penned songs and each one is performed oh so well, with great blues vocals and that wonderful slap bass fuelled beat. Doctor Thomas is another track which blends Psychobilly, Blues and Neo Rockabilly, the result is very cool on this id tempo track. Junk Car has a great slap bass intro, on a more Neo rockabilly styled track with lots of Harmonica, Stunner. Straight To Hell oh my that slap bass. Last track is a cover of the Dr Ross track Boogie Disease and it blew me away, Wild stuff. This is one for all you Neo Rockabilly’s and Blues fans.

Interpret: Doctor Ross. Album titlle: The Boogie Disease b-w Juke Box Boogie 7inch, 45rpm. His image then was a dream for publicists and journalists alike - with his stage name of 'Doctor' and his theme song about curing the 'boogie disease. Ross was not the first to use the theme of the musical medic come to help you feel better - Doctor Clayton and others got there first - but Ross's take on the medic idea was the boogie; if you wanted to hear good-time music, or wanted to shake your thing, or indeed wanted the other thing 'boogie' implied, then he was your.
