Battlestar Galactica is an American science fiction media franchise created by Glen A. Larson. The franchise began with the original television series in 1978 and was followed by a short-run sequel series (Galactica 1980), a line of book adaptations, original novels, comic books, a board game, and video games. A re-imagined version of Battlestar Galactica aired as a two-part, three-hour miniseries developed by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick in 2003.

Coincidences creates new alliances aboard Galactica. Quite simply, Battlestar Galactica is one of the most consistently strong shows I've ever seen. Considering this is only the first of (hopefully) many seasons, it's amazing to see how the show has "hit the ground running," with each episode being an improvement on the last. And considering the high standard of the first one, that's quite the achievement.

The Shape of Things to Come. Bear McCreary's amazing musical artistry shines in the soundtrack for the first season of Battlestar Galactica. The first season of the show was, well, AMAZING, and the music just added to the drama and suspense that the show was all about. First of all, Battlestar Galactica is about the characters. It's about the survival of the human race. When McCreary started working on the first soundtrack, he wanted to avoid the common sound of other TV show's music.
