The Guess Who. Perfil: Canadian rock band from Winnipeg, MB. Founded by Chad Allan in 1958 and known variously as The Silvertones, Chad Allen and The Silvertones, or Al and the Silvertones, their first recordings were released in 1962 as Chad Allan And The Reflections and Bob Ashley & The Reflections. In 1963, they became Chad Allan & The Expressions, finally becoming The Guess Who in 1965. Initially breaking up in 1975, there have been various reunions and reconstituted versions touring and recording ever since.
Guess Who LPs titled Shakin' All Over appeared in both the US and Canada in 1965, but they weren't the same records, though some of the same tracks were included on each release.

The Guess Who - Greatest. has been added to your Cart. The Guess Who is a Canadian band, and that's probably why so many of their songs resonate with me. I lived in Canada between about 1972-1975, and that was during my Jr HS and HS years, a time when many of our musical tastes are starting to develop. Anyway, from what I understand there was a policy at the time that there had to be a certain percentage of music played and TV shows aired that were Canadian. This means that I heard lots of groups like The Guess Who, Gordon Lightfoot, The Stampeders, and even Thundermug, while we lived there anyway, when I say this.
His Guess Who collaborator Burton Cummings, a trained Royal Conservatory Of Music pianist, later complimented Randy for devising riffs that were technically wrong but sonically right for the emerging song. They had a big hit in Canada with "Shaking All Over". Have an original copy of that album. Mike from Vancouver, CanadaThis song was used as a sample in the Torronto rapper Maestro Fresh Wes's song "Stick to Your Vision" from his album "Built to Last".
