His blend of music and comedy earned him the nicknames "The Clown Prince of Denmark," "The Unmelancholy Dane," and "The Great Dane. He joined TNT in 2005, replacing Sid Ringsby, and played on three studio albums and one live album. Borge left TNT in December 2012 to pursue another project, but rejoined in late 2013. Borge started playing the bass when he was 8 years old.

Victor Borge, who has died aged 91, was not the first comedian to have contrived his act from sending up or mutilating serious music. But he did it with more style than anyone else, in a way which had more widespread and long-lived appeal.
