These Things Shall Pass.
These things shall pass and some great morning We'll look back and smile at heartaches we have known So don't forget when shadows gather The Lord our God is still the King upon his throne A rose looks grey at midnight but the flame is just asleep And steel is strong because it knew the hammer and white heat. These things shall pass and life be sweeter When love and faith are strong they cannot long endure
Stuart Hamblen (1909 – 1989). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. Though the 1949 Los Angeles Crusade was to launch Billy Graham to worldwide fame, the meetings appeared to get off to a slow start. The next morning at 4:30, he was awakened in his room at the Langham Hotel by a phone call. It was Stuart Hamblen, and he was in tears. That night, Stuart gave his heart to Christ. It was the sign Billy needed to extend the meetings. Meanwhile, Stuart excitedly told the story of his conversion on his radio show, and the local newspapers picked up the story. Soon all of Los Angeles was buzzing about the Billy Graham meetings. The resulting publicity launched a half-century of mass evangelism virtually unparalleled in Christian history
It's no secret When you got me jumping up and down It's no secret 'Cause my heart is chained and bound I love you, yes I love you, Yeah. It's no secret Everybody knows how I feel. As I get older The year sake get's heavy for you. Wow It isn't any young girl I feel like my whole life is through. Yeah, when I stop feeling How strong my love is for you. Wow I know I'll be empty Watching your love like I do. It's no secret (No) When you got me jumping up and down It's no secret 'Cause my heart is chained and bound I love you, yes I love you, Yeah
Douay-Rheims Bible Amen I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Darby Bible Translation Verily I say to you, This generation will not have passed away until all these things shall have taken place. English Revised Version Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished. His examples, however, are not unassailable, though such use is certainly classical; but it the same time, it is unlikely that Christ should thus indefinitely postpone a period of infinite importance to his hearers. But there is no necessity for assuming any unusual meaning in the term "this generation. Its plain and obvious reference is to the contemporaries of the speaker, or those who shall live some thirty or forty years longer; this period would bring them to the siege of Jerusalem.
Hamblen replied that it was no secret what God had done for him and what God could do for his friend, too. The friend then replied that Hamblen should turn those lines into a song. That friend's name was John Wayne. So Hamblen followed Wayne's advice-he wrote it. "It Is No Secret" became the first song to reach on the Gospel, Country, and Pop charts. Think about that: a song that tells us that "with arms wide open, he'll pardon you" reached on the Pop chart. Thank you, John Wayne

This too shall pass" is an adage reflecting on the temporary nature, or ephemerality, of the human condition. The general sentiment is often expressed in wisdom literature throughout history and across cultures, although the specific phrase seems to have originated in the writings of the medieval Persian Sufi poets. It is known in the Western world primarily due to a 19th century retelling of Persian fable by the English poet Edward FitzGerald.
