Mama's Pride is an American rock band that formed in S. ouis, Missouri in 1972. After forming in 1972 the band quickly grew a strong following. They signed to Atco Records in 1974, a division of Atlantic Records at that time, now a division of Warner Brothers. They released the self-titled album Mama's Pride in 1975, which was produced by Grammy Award winning producer Arif Mardin. The band's second album Uptown & Lowdown was released in 1977

Mama's Pride were a southern rock band, lead by brothers Danny and Pat Liston, in the style of The Allman Brothers Band with great blues jams. They issued two rockin' albums in the 1970s on Atlantic Records. The eponymous Mama's Pride was originally issued in 1975. Southern rock fans with eat this up! Wounded Bird. But this first Mama's Pride album is the real find. Southern Rock fans especially will like the songs here. Lots of melodic tunes with great harmonies, and some fine guitar playing too, although most songs are on the mellower end of the spectrum, rather than rough and rowdy rockers.
