The Mozart Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola, and orchestra in E flat, K. 364, is a challenging work for interpreters, with one of those spacious Mozart first movements that lack real melodies, instead building up large structures through an evolving balance among a group of simple musical elements. The Moscow Philharmonic under Kiril Kondrashin is competent but does not make a seamless blend with the soloists. In the Duo for Violin and Viola in F major, K. 423, that rounds out the disc, there is no such problem with the orchestra to contend with.
