Les Baxter arranges and conducts 101 Strings recorded in London January 1970. Contains: Que Mango!; Tropicando; On a Warm Night; Flight in the Andes; Felicia, My Love; Affair in Arruba; Jungle Montuno; Soolaimon; Boca Chica; Come Back to Paradise; Night in Buenos Aires; Morning in the Meadow. Yet Baxter tweaks his sound just a bit by giving the entire album a distinctly more pop oriented feel, whether it be a funky r&b beat or a subtle fuzz guitar. The first -amazing- track is the best example.

Background information. 101 Strings Orchestra was a brand for a highly successful easy listening symphonic music organization, with a discography exceeding 150 albums and a creative lifetime of around 30 years beginning in 1957. 101 Strings had a trademark sound, focusing on melody with a laid-back ambiance most often featuring strings. Their LPs were individualized by the slogan "The Sound of Magnificence", a puffy cloud logo and sepia-toned photo of the orchestra.
