And album closer "Goodnight Lovers" is a different kind of lullaby with bracing lines like "When you're born a lover you're born to suffer.

Spirit is the 14th studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was released on 17 March 2017 by Columbia Records and Mute Records. It was preceded by the single "Where's the Revolution". Spirit is the band's second album released under Columbia. Depeche Mode recorded it with new producer James Ford.
