Rumplestiltskin's Resolve is an album by folk-rock musician Shawn Phillips. Rumpelstiltskin Grinder is a thrash band from Pennsylvania signed to Relapse Records. Stiltskin is a Scottish rock band, notable for the fact that one of its band members, Ray Wilson, was temporarily a lead vocalist of progressive rock band Genesis. Rumpelstilzchen" on their album Herzwerk II, which quotes the original German fairy tale. Rumpofsteelskin" is a song by funk band Parliament from the album Motor Booty Affair. Folk-rock with some unexpected musical twists, sung with extraordinary passion. It wasn't going to sell well, as disco began its rise to the top of the musical pyramid, but it showed Phillips nearing the end of his A&M contract close to the top of his game.

With "Rumplestiltskin's Resolve" (1976) Phillips returned to his ambitious experiments, in particular the ten-minute "Today" and the seven-minute title track. His experiments with electronic keyboards on his LPs in the late 1970s made him a jazz-funk pioneer, and so it was not a surprise that in 1980, Shawn Phillips joined Richard Bugg and Cal Grant for the Cosmic Debris project, which led to the progressive electronic album ". K", where he played guitar and synth guitar.
