Herz aus Glas (subtitled "Singet, denn der Gesang vertreibt die Wölfe", French "Cœur de verre") is the ninth album by Popol Vuh. It was originally released in 1977 on Brain Records. In 2005 SPV re-released the album with two bonus tracks

Carmen achieved far greater success with his debut solo album than he ever had with his old group, The Raspberries. In part this was because, freed from the restrictions of leading a rock band, he could indulge his taste in big, lush ballads. That's what he did here, especially on the album's three Top 40 hits, one of which, "All by Myself," was a gold-selling hit.

Carmen Thelen Gaspar is a female singer who formally performed with "The Marinas" / "Die Doraus und die Marinas" / "Andreas Dorau & die Marinas" best known from the first single-chart-hit of the NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle) in Germany with "Fred vom Jupiter". Carmen also had a role at the movie "Die letzte Rache" of "Der Plan", as well as some TV-appearences with "Fred vom Jupiter". Carmen is an actress of the first years in German New Wave pioneer-times ! The label "Schallmauer" took care of her, and with the compository help of Piet Klocke (who performed with Die Tanzdiele, Gesundes Volksempfinden, made some solo-releases, and was later quite sucessfull as movie-acteur and comedian in Germany), she released this longplay, as well as the 7"-single "Es ist kalt". And what a masterpiece is this LP: A kind of very well produced NDW, funk and early-80's-Pop with much saxophone (influenced by Piet Klocke), and with Carmens voice: The voice of a teenager who expresses her own view with a mixture of obscure stories, forlorness, naivety and an impeccable mind for reality. This unique, groovy style with detailed arrangements should last for decades in the minds of many listeners. And yes... at a private-party a few years ago with no DJs, just with much vinyl in front of the record-player it was this album which you could hear there for two times in full lenght... Stegula
