Polyphia‘s sophomore album has been christened Renaissance and will be released March 11 through Equal Vision. A video for the track Euphoria debuted from it today and can be viewed below. Nick Sampson (Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men) co-produced the outing alongside the band’s guitarist Tim Henson and Scott LePage. Speaking of the outing, band bassist Clay Gober offered: As a band, we’ve been pretty clear and up front about our love affair with culturally mainstream music.

Their second studio album, Renaissance, saw the band diverge further away from metal, into a more progressive rock and math rock influenced sound. They also began to mix elements of EDM, Funk, and Hip-hop into the mix with the single LIT, a remix of the song Light, the second track on Renaissance. This sound was further developed with the release of their second EP "The Most Hated" and third LP "New Levels New Devils. Arranging the actual sound of the record was somewhat tricky, seeing as how the Justin Bieber and Drake records we’ve been blasting nonstop don’t exactly fit right in with the thematic elements of Renaissance culture. Polyphia Renaissance (Equal Vision). Polyphia are one of the best of the rising tide of instru-prog acts, in large part because they know how to write memorable, catchy tunes sans vocals. I really enjoyed their re-released debut from last year, and with little wait comes the group’s anticipated sophomore album, Renaissance. Absolutely yes, in a way that makes sense the more time the album is given. One of the biggest aspects of Muse was the sheer number of excellent guest guitar soloists throughout the album, many of which were absolute highlights. With Renaissance, the band is out on an island, with only its own members left to carry the burden.
