Jerome Rothenberg ‎– Horse Songs. Label: New Wilderness Audiographics ‎– 7707A. On this tape are multi-tracked recordings of Rothenberg singing his "total translations" based on some of the 17 "Horse Songs" in the blessingway of Frank Mitchell, a Navaho from Chinle, Arizona who lived from 1881 to 1967. This cassette is part of the first New Wilderness Audiographics series, 23 cassettes co-produced by Ondina Fiore and Charlie Morrow.

Jerome Rothenberg (born December 11, 1931) is an American poet, translator and anthologist, noted for his work in the fields of ethnopoetics and performance poetry. Jerome Rothenberg was born and raised in New York City, the son of Polish-Jewish immigrant parents and is a descendant of the Talmudist Rabbi Meir of Rothenburg. He attended the City College of New York, graduating in 1952, and in 1953 he received a Master's Degree in Literature from the University of Michigan.

Born on December 11, 1931 to Morris and Estelle Rothenberg, Jerome Rothenberg was raised in New York City and graduated from the City College of New York in 1952 with a BA in English. He went on to the University of Michigan to receive his Masters in Literature in 1953. From 1953 until 1955, he served in the . Army in Mainz, Germany and afterwards returned to New York and continued his graduate studies at Columbia University until 1959. Rothenberg began his literary career in the late 1950s working primarily as a translator; he is responsible for the first English appearances of Paul Celan.
