The Black Album (Jay-Z album). The Black Album is the eighth studio album by American rapper Jay-Z, released on November 14, 2003, by Roc-A-Fella Records. It was advertised as his final album before retiring, which is also a recurring theme throughout the songs, although Jay-Z resumed his recording career in 2006.

UK Decay, Decadance, For Madmen Only, 1981. UK Decay were an early ‘80s punk band now hailed as ‘proto-goth’ who used Symbolist artwork, in this case Jan Toorop’s The Disintegration of Faith, and were often described as ‘Decadent. This identification was largely due to them preferring to treat the imaginative themes of madness, artifice, perversion and supernatural dread while Thatcher’s fin de siècle England rotted around them. Can somebody tell me what the difference is between the 2 versions of this single listed. I can't see any actual difference?
Rit
Thanks. Yes the For My Country and Unexpected Guest reissues are very obvious, reissued by the band on their own label. I have a “glossy sleeve” Black 45 and I was worried it might be a reissue and there were earlier versions . Will try to find a Matt one now. I think the story here is that the band repressed these singles after fresh went bust, but I heard tales that fresh took over distribution from Plastic ( the bands own label) in 81 or so and I wondered if there were differences at that point

Its written in the notes, the reissue / repress came in a matt paper sleeve. The original was issued in a flimsier glossy sleeve. It was the same for 'For My Country' as well where the original was issued in a glossy sleeve, reissue in matt sleeve (though its more easy to spot difference as it came out on a different label!). The reissue's didn't appear until 1983 or 1984.
