We are condemned to be free, because we were not created like the knife, with a purpose and explicit meaning in mind. A sense of being free is in the root of philosophy on an average to all the works in it as subject. Some reason some phenomenon to get free from self, some to get others and some to get god. Almost all the philosophers have found one particularity in the sense to provide reasons to get justify and by doing so to accept the senses and thought or that particularity. Sartre's this sentence in other means pointing towards this definition-less need of getting "Free" from something.

Not only are we condemned to be free because we did not choose to exist, but we are also condemned to be free because we are the only thing that exists that has to be responsible for all of our actions. However, how do we know that God doesn’t have everything determined for us and just leads us to believe that we are free? The truth is that we don’t know, and won’t until we leave this earth. A person cannot make excuses for their actions, because there is no God to respond to, and he has chosen them on his own. We are condemned to face life and the responsibility that comes with it. Even if Sartre believed in a God, it still wouldn’t help what he is trying to express. If God existed then some people would just want to let God make their decisions for them, which gives people an excuse for their actions, and takes away all sense of freedom.

We all, in our free societies, elect to trade some of our freedom for the sake of security. Sartre is fine with this, pragmatically, but he believes that such actions are in what he calls bad faith, in that we feel compelled to do so but only feel that way because it relieves us from the burden of being truly responsible for ourselves. As much as I adore the hard-nosed, stubborn existentialism of my father’s generation, I struggle with this extreme.

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. Skepticism is the chastity of the intellect. To covet truth is a very distinguished passion.

Y'all seem to love to forget Everything that I've done for you, what a regret I used to think what I'd done would be met With abundance of love and respect, but what do I get? In place of appreciation I've been paid with your hate and neglect, taking a rest Cus' I've been carrying you fairweathers, and it's breaking my neck I'll fuck up a check, forget the promises I kept I'm on the cliff and I'm taking a step I followed advice I was meant to reject That could be the. reason that I'm feeling distressed Always conditions that need . .

The Condemned of Altona (French: Les Séquestrés d'Altona) is a play written by Jean-Paul Sartre, known in Great Britain as Loser Wins. It was first produced in 1959 at the Théâtre de la Renaissance in Paris. It was one of the last plays Sartre wrote, followed only by his adaptation of Euripides' The Trojan Women. The title recalls his formulation "Man is condemned to be free.
