Milk & Honey (originally titled Beautiful, Loved & Blessed) is the unreleased debut studio album by Támar Davis, and was recorded in 2005 and early 2006, with a planned release in Spring 2006. The album was advertised on a flyer included in Prince's album3121, and Prince and Támar Davis appeared on television promoting the album; Princeeven toured as Támar Davis's guitar player on the 2006 Tamar Tour to help promote the album. The album was delayed from a March release to May, and then to August, before being cancelled altogether. Some copies were sold in Japan, so the cover.

2006 (Támar Davis lead vocals). Milk & Honey is an unreleased song by Támar Davis, co-written, produced and performed by Prince. While specific recording dates are unknown, it was likely recorded at some point between early 2005 (when Prince first worked with Támar Davis) and early 2006, at either Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota, or 3121 Antelo Rd. in Los Angeles, California. The song was included on Támar's first album, then titled Beautiful, Loved & Blessed; it was included as the second track when the album was later renamed Milk & Honey, and regularly played.

Talk about Támar Davis - Milk & Honey

Set to be Tamar's debut album, Milk & Honey was originally to be titled Beautiful, Loved and Blessed, but was later renamed after one of the other tracks. The album appeared to feature significant input by Prince, many of the song titles employed his style of abbreviations. Milk & Honey was originally set to be released on May 5, 2006, but was delayed for unrevealed reasons. Several other rumored release dates came and went and the album was eventually canceled, even though a few promotional singles had been issued.

Yes, was very VERY disappointed that this album was cancelled without a lot of notice about it (I scoured music stores while on travel on the release date). I saw her tour with Prince earlier that year and was very impressed by her voice and soul. It's rather sad that more often than not, artists brought up under his purple greatness wind up with cancelled albums and projects and are barely heard from again. I thought this would be different. This is a Prince project, yes. Produced and written mostly by him. And therein lies the problem and the reason why we really haven't heard from Ms. Davis since. She has the pipes and charisma to pull off a funkier style, a la Sy Smith, but the straight R&B material she later released just doesn't seem to have strong appeal. Prince got the best out of her... and then left it on the shelf.Been able to find a few tracks that slipped through the cracks. Of course, Beautiful, Loved, & Blessed was released. Redhead Stepchild is an energy filled track with familiar guitar riffs. The title track Milk & Honey is simply just a remix of Prince's Love 2 The 9's. Beautiful, Loved, & Blessed, an ode to The Savior, is very smooth, melodic, and magical in it's soulful funk simplicity and is a lovely duet between Tamar and Prince. They performed the song on Saturday Night Live in 2006 (hosted by Steve Martin). If one can get their hands on a legit print of this album, it's going to be more of a collector's item. Otherwise, there will be just a few tracks that are repeat worthy. Otherwise, just okay. Unless one has money to burn, it's certainly not worth forking over 3 figures just to have it.

OFFICIAL Promos do NOT exist of this CD album. Only the cancelled retail copies are LEGIT. These are as pictured in my listing with an OBI. Watch out for (expensive) chinese bootlegs. they have been floating around for a while. Seen a few being sold on eBay. Looking exactly like the original Japan edition. Poor/ cheap quality of the printing on the OBI and booklet and on the actual CD if itself is a dead giveaway.
