Drastic Fantastic - the spangly attempt at pop stardom consolidation - didn’t catch on like it should have, but KT Tunstall doesn’t quite beat a retreat on its 2010 sequel, Tiger Suit. Sure, she’s reverted to contemplative photographs for her album art, but Tiger Suit isn’t a hermetically sealed sensitive singer/songwriter record, all quivering sincerity and strummed guitars. Fittingly for an album recorded at Berlin’s Hansa studio, where Achtung Baby and Heroes were cut, it is produced, polished, and textured, an album with movement and progression.

Kin (stylised in all caps) is the fifth studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall. It was released on 9 September 2016 worldwide, following up her previous album, the folk-toned Invisible Empire // Crescent Moon. It was preceded by the Golden State EP, which included one of the songs from the album, "Evil Eye". The album was produced by Tony Hoffer in a studio in Los Angeles. It peaked at number 7 on the UK and Scottish album charts and number 96 in Switzerland.

Recorded at Hansa Studio in Germany where David Bowie’s Heroes and U2’s Achtung Baby were also recorded, Tiger Suit is a technically thrilling album based on layers of sound and brilliant electronic manipulation. Tunstall, the Scottish folkie, is again completely vanquished, as on Drastic Fantastic, and a booming art-pop singer takes her place. Uummannaq Song jags in several different directions as the rhythm section’s cruise control goes delightfully awry. Glamour Puss is more cityscape glitz and champagne fizz.

Tiger Suit is the third studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall which features more contemporary ingredients than her previous work. Several tracks such as "Push That Knot Away" harness electronic beats to her acoustic guitar. It was released by Relentless Records in Ireland on 24 September 2010, in the United Kingdom on 27 September 2010 and in the United States and Canada on 5 October 2010. It was released in Europe on the 22 and 25 October 2010
