Ideas Above Our Station is the first studio album by the English alternative rock band, Hundred Reasons, released on May 20, 2002, on Columbia Records. The album reached in the UK album chart and is the band's most commercially successful album to date. In 2012, the band got together after a three-year break to celebrate the album's ten-year anniversary. The album cover art is a stylised photograph of the Lloyd's Building in London.

The band's debut album, Ideas Above Our Station was recorded at Magic Shop Studio, New York City in August and September 2001 and was released on 20 May 2002  . Hibbitt also noted that the band will not record a fifth studio album: "We’d have to change our lives so much to put ourselves in a position where we’d make a good Hundred Reasons record. We could toss off an average Hundred Reasons record, but there’s no desire to do that. I don’t think that any of us want to do it full-time again.

The passion of Hundred Reasons on Ideas Above Our Station seems completely honest, but the group is traversing territory that's been pretty clearly marked by . bands from Fugazi to At the Drive-In as well as . acts like Manic Street Preachers and Idlewild. It's very difficult to make a successful serious hard rock album with lyrics best reserved for teen diaries. Track titles like "Drowning," "Falter," and "Dissolve" should be an instant warning that the members of Hundred Reasons take themselves very seriously

Overall, Ideas Above Our Station is a brilliant album, especially for a debut from a band that are now sadly looked at as ‘underdogs’ in the British rock scene. Back in 2002 the future looked bright for Hundred Reasons, but sadly they never enjoyed the success that they deserve, all because of label politics. A debut album is the first opportunity to for a band to let listeners know what they are about and this album certainly does that, as it mixes rock with post-hardcore brilliantly, as well as having great softer songs
