I'd have to say that this release has one of the most consistently dark moods from any dubstep full length I've heard for awhile. The sound is akin to standing in the middle of a dark and scary woodland, shouting "Hello? Is anybody there?" into the darkness after hearing an unseen, unspeakably evil presence lurking just out of view. Or perhaps its dubstep aimed at the residents of Silent Hill. Either way it makes for unsettling, although thrilling listening. Despite this however, due to the fact that it sticks to this dark sound and never really deviates to anything else it does get a little repetitive to listen from start to finish in my opinion, but it’s still a treat when listened to in moderation. I will definitely keep my eye out for more from Ekaros though, because this release really impressed me. Oh yeah and kudos for the sample from ‘Predator’ on ‘Swamp Beast’, that was a pleasant surprise.
