The Pineapple Thief is a British progressive rock band, started by Bruce Soord in 1999 in Somerset, England. The band has released twelve studio albums. Founder Bruce Soord started The Pineapple Thief as an outlet for his music back in 1999. Soord released the debut Abducting the Unicorn on Cyclops Records, which created enough interest to establish a small but loyal fan base

The Pineapple Thief has a defined sound and while that is expanding to a degree with the inclusion of Harrison’s ideas and input, there isn’t anything nearly as inventive or experimental on here as Soord’s other project The Wisdom of Crowds, for example. A highlight of The Pineapple Thief’s career, Dissolution is a rewarding sonic experience thanks to strong songwriting, production and band performance. Songwriting 9. Musicianship .

The Pineapple Thief biography Founded in Yeovil, Somerset, UK in 1999. The guitarist of VULGAR UNICORN starts his solo career with this band, which is inspired as much by PORCUPINE TREE as by his old group. PINEAPPLE THIEF has a mix of prog with some space rock. Balance, beauty, and modernity are all to be found in the plush sounds of PINEAPPLE THIEF. great melodies, songs and plenty of atmospheres. This band will appeal to fans of RADIOHEAD, but other occasional influences show through that are less obvious but apparent (PINK FLOYD, U2, OZRICS and KING CRIMSON). With the release of The Pineapple Thief's 8th album 'Tightly Unwound', released in 2008, we finally see them performing and writing better songs and melodies and venturing into a more progressive sound.
