Our album, which was called It and sold about four copies, really didn’t have anything to do with that trendy, shiny ’80s sound; the drums were as quiet as you could possibly have them while still remaining audible. We realized we were not really in sync with the times that we were living in and that we needed to go our own way if we wanted to get somewhere interesting.

Jarvis Branson Cocker (born 19 September 1963) is an English musician, actor and presenter. As the founder, frontman, and sole consistent member of the band Pulp, he became a figurehead of the Britpop genre of the mid-1990s. Following Pulp's hiatus, Cocker has pursued a solo career, and for seven years he presented a BBC Radio 6 Music show called Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service.

Jarvis Cocker, best known as the former front-man for the band Pulp, has worked with us to produce the album, entitled National Trust: The Album, comprising of British natural sounds including birdsong, crashing waves and wind breezing through a country garden. Eleven of our special places across England, Northern Ireland and Wales feature on the album, so we hope you'll enjoy listening to the sounds of these places - to hear them for real, come along for a visit - we're closer than you think.

Track 3, "Black Magic", contains a sample from "Crimson & Clover" (Tommy James, Pete Lucia), EMI Music Publishing, recorded by Tommy James & The Shondells (Roulette, Rhino Records). Track 11, "Big Julie", has a short isolated clip of Carson McCullers reading from her book 'The Member Of The Wedding' from her spoken word album 'The Member Of The Wedding And Other Works' as an intro.
