The songs on Age of Unreason are both furious and meticulously crafted. There is a stylistic consistency to the band’s iconic and influential sound – hard fast beats, big hooks and rousing choruses, yet each new song remains distinctive, utilizing composition, melody and lyrics to deliver a unique narrative consistent with the band’s longstanding humanist worldview. This album is our best shot at an angry but clear-headed response to a fucked situation. Age of Unreason is both a dire warning and testament to resilience. The overall message being – stay informed about the world and oneself.

Age of Unreason is a mission statement for 2019 from a band that's made a history of mission statements in dire times. There's obviously a formula that they stick to with almost every album, and usually I don't like formulaic music. Bad Religion' is as consistent yet artistic as their past records. This record is unrelenting, as the theme of political distress and rebellion is prevalent. If you're angry with the government, this is the album to look to. Color: Black FAV TRACKS: Do the Paranoid.

The songs on Age Of Unreason - Bad Religion's 17th LP - are perfectly serviceable and fun to listen to, most of the time. It's a Bad Religion record and you know what it's going to sound like before you've even heard of it, which is both a strength and a weakness. There's some great songs like "Chaos From Within", "Old Regime" and "My Sanity", "The Approach", and "What Tomorrow Brings" that are just as fiery and melodically brilliant as any of their finest work. The album ends up more or less in line with their other post-2000 output in quality, sitting right in the middle-low tier of their catalogue, with half the songs being solid-to-great and the other half fairly forgettable.

Age of Unreason is the seventeenth studio album by American punk rock band Bad Religion, released on May 3, 2019.

The album of modern day protest anthems will heavily reference today’s social and political climate. Racist rallies, Trump’s election, the erosion of the middle class, Colin Kaepernick’s protest, alternative facts and conspiracy theories will all be addressed, while homages to literary and philosophical works are honored.
