Clannad - Macalla flac album

Macalla is a 1985 musical album by Irish folk group Clannad. It is their ninth album and became prominent with a collaboration between Clannad's singer Moya Brennan and U2 vocalist Bono on the duet "In a Lifetime". Furthermore, it featured some internationally renowned artists such as art rock saxophone player Mel Collins, an ex-King Crimson member and famous for his solo on The Rolling Stones' "Miss You", and Anton Corbijn's photography.

Macalla was initially released in 1985 worldwide. A remaster of the album was also released on September 1, 2003, adding one bonus track. Recorded in 1985, Bono joined Irish band Clannad on the song In a Lifetime, which was initially released on the album Macalla in 1985. It was also released as a single on three occasions, first in January 1986 as the third single released from Macalla and in 1989 as a promotional track for the Past Present collection of songs, and finally in 1993 in Europe at a time when the song was being used as an advertising campaign for Jameson Whiskey.

Clannad released their third album Dúlamán in 1976. The album is named after the Irish folk song "Dúlamán" which became a fan favourite at Clannad concerts. Dúlamán was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and is their first album produced by Nicky Ryan. Clannad in 1982 at the Leeds Folk Festival. In 1985, Clannad released Macalla (Irish for Echo) which was recorded in Switzerland, England, and Ireland.

This album originally came out in 1985. I wasn't familiar with Clannad at the time, yet I sought out a copy because I was a huge U2 fan, and Bono provided guest vocals on the track, "In A Lifetime. Needless to say, I loved the entire record, and I've collected most of Clannad's CDs since. Some are better than this offering and some are less interesting. Gaelic for the word echo, "Macalla" showcases the band's beautiful harmonies over a series of ten great compositions, all written by members of the band
