Al Green's Greatest Hits is a 1975 greatest hits release by soul singer Al Green. In 2003, the album was ranked number 52 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. The compilation has consistently ranked as one of the best executed 'greatest hits' albums in history.

Upon its original release in 1975, Al Green's Greatest Hits pretty much summed up everything about Green, containing his ten biggest hits up to that point. A few years later, it was followed by a second volume, which contained hit singles that had charted since the release of the first collection. In 1995, The Right Stuff reissued Al Green's Greatest Hits, adding five of the highlights from the second volume of greatest hits as bonus tracks.

I just received my Al Green Greatest hits Vinyl from UPS. I was really impressed to see that the record is pressed on a 180 gram vinyl plate and it sounds amazing! Not much needs to be said about his music except that it is great. if you are an Al Green fan then you know that there is not one track that you would not like. Al Green Gets Next To You (1971). Most of this album is still in the rougher, southern soul style, but the song Tired of Being Alone was a big hit and shows the smoother direction Al would take beginning with his next album. Despite not being purely in the style Al Green is known for, this is his first successful and essential album. I highly recommend you check this one out, any song, they are all good. However it isn’t quite as essential as the next few albums. Strong as Death (Sweet as Love). I Want to Hold Your Hand. Al Green has a lot of great music so if you like his greatest hits please look further into these albums. You will not be disappointed. Every album has it’s own unique feel and is really quite special.
