Produced by Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb, Barry Gibb & 2 more. Album Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track.

Redirected from Night Fever (album)). Night Fever" is a song written and performed by the Bee Gees. It first appeared on the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever on RSO Records. Producer Robert Stigwood wanted to call the film Saturday Night, but singer Robin Gibb expressed hesitation at the title. Stigwood liked the title Night Fever but was wary of marketing a movie with that name

Night fever, night fever, we know how to do it Gimme that night fever, night fever, we know how to show it.

Saturday Night Fever, although hardly as prodigious an artistic achievement as those precursors, was precisely that kind of musical phenomenon for the second half of the '70s. Ironically, before its release, the disco boom had seemingly run its course, primarily in Europe, and was confined mostly to black culture and the gay underground in America. Saturday Night Fever, as a movie and an album, plus a brace of hit singles off of it, suddenly made disco explode into mainstream, working- and middle-class America with a new immediacy and urgency, increasing its audience ten-fold overnight.

The Bee Gees wrote several songs for the now iconic soundtrack, including the instantly recognizable hit Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, How Deep Is Your Love?, and More than a Woman. They also penned If I Can’t Have You, which was performed by Yvonne Elliman. The album contains numerous other pop hits, including Kool & The Gang’s Open Sesame, and . and the Sunshine Band’s Boogie Shoes. To call this album a cultural behemoth would practically be an understatement. It was added to the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress in 2012 for its significance. The Bee Gees and composer David Shire earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score, and the Bee Gees were a contender for Best Original Song with How Deep Is Your Love?

The Bee Gees thought it was a dumb title, but they had already written a song called "Night Fever. They convinced Stigwood to use that and change the film's title to Saturday Night Fever. The movie became a classic, telling a coming-of-age story in the disco era. It helped launch the film career of John Travolta, who starred as Tony Manero, the conflicted youth who escaped his troubles on the dance floor. The soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever sold over 30 million copies worldwide and won the 1978 Grammy for Album Of The Year. This was the third single from the soundtrack and.
