Raymond van het Groenewoud (Schaerbeek, February 14, 1950) is a dutch-speaking Belgian singer-songwriter and author-composer. From 1972 on Raymond mixes candid observations on human behavior with his own, unique sense of humor. His songs are alternatively full of emotion and boisterous, dark and joyful, but are always powered by a sound base of rock'n roll and references to all four musical corners of the globe". They rightfully awarded him the title "His excellence of Belgian Pop".
Raymond van het Groenewoud (born 14 February 1950) is a Belgian musician. He was born in Schaarbeek, of Dutch descent, and he sings primarily in Dutch. His biggest hits include "Vlaanderen Boven", "Meisjes", "Je Veux de l'Amour", "Zjoske Schone Meid" and "Liefde voor Muziek". He refers to himself as a musician but also a poet, philosopher and clown. His debut was as a guitar player with Johan Verminnen. In 1972 he started the group Louisette with Erik Van Neygen.
