Food, Sex & Paranoia is the third studio album from the British new wave band Furniture, released in 1990. It was produced by Mike Thorne and would be the band's last studio album before their split in 1991.

Food, Sex & Paranoia is a fine, passionate collection, dressed in a mixture of art pop, sophisti-pop, and new wave. Not many people have had the opportunity to hear the follow up the Wrong People by Furniture. The album was Food, Sex and Paranoia and was released in 1989 on Arista records in the . I got a copy from Newbury Comics in Boston, and hold is as one of my "holy grail" cd's as it is a amazing release. The sound and song writing is more mature, and should I say paranoid from the first 3 lp's Furniture released.

Food, Sex & Paranoia is the third studio album from the British new wave band Furniture, released in 1990. After signing to Stiff in 1986, Furniture achieved their commercial breakthrough with the single "Brilliant Mind", which reached No. 21 in the UK. However, both the follow-up single "Love Your Shoes" and the parent album The Wrong People failed to continue this success due to Stiff's financial difficulties.

In 1983, Furniture released a mini-album entitled When the Boom Was On, on the Premonition imprint of the Ealing-based Survival record label. Switching fully to Survival in spring 1984, Furniture released their second single, "Dancing the Hard Bargain", which was produced by former Blue Zoo member, Tim Parry. This time, the band signed to a major label – Arista Records. Under the new contract, the band recorded another album, Food, Sex and Paranoia, which was produced by Mike Thorne and released in February 1990. The album was notable for Whelan and Lee's growing and prominent use of instruments which were not generally used in Western pop music – such as tongue drums and the yangqin zither – which presaged their later work in Transglobal Underground. The album was preceded in October 1989 by the single "Slow Motion Kisses".
