The sound of this album is very stripped down with most songs consisting almost entirely of the rock instrument arrangements, which were also present on the band's first two albums. Start with Talking Heads 77' and work your way chronologically from there and pick up this album once you've reached Remain In Light and feel like exploring more! star songs: And She Was (3:38) Give Me Back My Name (3:20) Road To Nowhere (4:19). star songs: Creatures Of Love (4:14) The Lady Don't Mind (3:59) Perfect World (4:27) Stay Up Late (3:42) Television Man (6:10).
Because Talking Heads have spoiled us with the richness of their music for nine years, we have come to expect a bold advance with each new album. So what is it here? Gregorian disco? Or perhaps electro-shakuhachi, or Indo-punk? Actually, Little Creatures is a retreat from the avant-garde, a retreat that begins immediately in the cover art. On past albums the band wore its art-school training on its sleeve, devising experimental graphics for its LP Jackets
Little Creatures Talking Heads. All about Talking Heads. And She Was - 2005 Remastered Version. Give Me Back My Name - 2005 Remastered Version.
Little Creatures" by Talking Heads was by the far their breeziest album. This album was released in 1985 when pop music was at its most popular. And so "Little Creatures" is a fun, perky, loopy pop album - Talking Heads style of course. David Byrne's lyrics are still mind-bending as ever. His vocals are unique as always, and even when he sounds really sarcastic, he has this uncanny ability to come off really sincere. The first single that was released from "Little Creatures" was "And She Was" which is the very first Talking Heads song I remember hearing on the radio when I was a kid. Of course at the time, I just thought "And She Was" was a love song, but when I grew up - I discovered that the song is about a girl tripping on a mind-altering substance: "And she was looking at herself, and things were looking like a movie.
