Amy Helm - Didn't it Rain flac album

Amy Helm (born December 3, 1970) is an American singer-songwriter and daughter of The Band drummer Levon Helm and singer Libby Titus. She is a past member of the Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble Band and Ollabelle, as well as her own touring band. Her debut solo album, Didn’t It Rain, was released in July 2015, and her second release This Too Shall Light will be released September 2018 on Yep Roc Records.

Levon Helm’s final recordings are featured on his daughter’s first solo LP, which he executive produced. All of my parents, stepparents, their friends and peers really good in backing off and letting me find my way, Helm tells Rolling Stone Country of making her rootsy new album, Didn’t It Rain. And then when I was giving in to fear too much, they were really good about stepping in. My dad would always say to me, ‘Buck up, girl!' Though the set marks her solo debut, Helm is hardly a newcomer. She recorded three albums with alt-country quartet Ollabelle and spent 10 years in the Midnight Ramble Band with her father. Levon played on three tracks on Amy’s record, his last recordings.

Accompanying Helm on Didn't It Rain is an impressive roster of players and singers that demonstrates the esteem in which the artist is held by her peers. Helm's former Ollabelle bandmate Byron Isaacs, who produced the album, co-wrote the majority of the songs with Helm, and is featured as one-third of Helm's current live trio the Handsome Strangers, playing bass alongside guitarist Daniel Littleton and drummer David Berger.
