Whispers is the fifth studio album from British singer-songwriter Passenger. It was released between 6 and 10 June 2014 in different countries, through Black Crow Records and Nettwerk. The album includes the singles "Scare Away the Dark" and "Heart's on Fire". On 26 March 2014 Passenger announced details of his fifth studio album, confirming the UK release date as 9 June 2014.

British singer/songwriter Mike Rosenberg, otherwise known as Passenger, continues exploring the broader sonic palette he developed on 2012's All the Little Lights with his sixth studio album, 2014's Whispers. As he did last time, Rosenberg once again teamed up with All the Little Lights producer Chris Vallejo. Together, they deliver a batch of evocative acoustic folk and indie pop songs that are often expanded with orchestral flourishes

Perhaps unsurprisingly, his first album since finding success is somewhat more upbeat. With a gravelly but delicate voice and melodies that can evoke Ed Sheeran, who’s a friend, or Cat Stevens, he takes on his indecisive twenties on Rolling Stone and 27, attempts a road epic on Riding to New York, and, on Scare Away the Dark, implores, We want something real/Not just hashtags and Twitter. Rosenberg - aka Passenger - will release "Whispers" June 10 via Nettwerk. Fans will get their first sampling of the new set when Passenger debuts "Scare Away the Dark" on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" March 28. The same song will be officially released as a single on April 1. It's already become a regular song in Rosenberg's live sets and features anti-technology lines like "we're all slowly dying in front of fucking computers.

This album is truly a masterpiece of Passenger. I have always been a fan of Passenger, although listening to these songs has made me obsessed. It will give you an idea of what excellent music sounds like.

Coins in a Fountain opens the album with a nod to the folk-fusion of Richard Thompson-acoustic fingerpicking, cello, and lush harmonies-but, like most other songs on Whispers, Rosenberg’s subtle surprises make the track remarkably fresh. The songwriter alternates verses with a ringing instrumental hook and adds a pattering tom-tom beat to give the track a vaguely international swing.
