Orbital (also known as Orbital 2 or the Brown Album) is the eponymous second studio album by English electronic music duo Orbital, released on 24 May 1993 by Internal and FFRR Records. The album peaked at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart. On Orbital the duo aimed to make more atmospheric music than the dance raves of their first album

Orbital gave an improvisational element to live electronic music as the brothers mixed and sequenced their tracks on the fly, wearing their trademark head-mounted torches behind banks of equipment. Orbital were one of the few electronic acts invited to play at Woodstock '94. The third album, Snivilisation, was released in August 1994. In Sides has since come to be one of their most critically well-regarded works  . It was the first Orbital album since In Sides to feature artwork by John Greenwood.

In Sides isn't Orbital's best album, or their most accomplished, but it is the most definitive. It pulses with the energy of the debut, the lush flow of the second, and the conceptual theme of Snivilisation. The focus this time, though, is ecology. The Girl With the Sun in Her Head" was recorded on a Greenpeace bus using only solar power, and "Dwr Budr" (Welsh for "dirty water") also criticizes the misuse of natural resources

By the time Orbital released its fourth album, the Hartnoll brothers were strongly tipped as techno heavyweights alongside more commercially palatable prospects like Underworld and Prodigy. Yet, instead of catering to the curious, they presented their most self-indulgent album to date with In Sides. Packaging the 24-minute symphonic track "Out There Somewhere?" with the loopy psychedelic flight of ". " they created a most unusual and intriguing collection.

It was my first Orbital album which I bought when I was in university, so I didn't know this at the time, but it's certainly different to anything else they've come out with. Like, the sound is so different that you could tell The Saint was made around the same time just by listening to it. Matthew Steele8 месяцев назад. My first Orbital album! Recommended by a classmate a year or two after it came out. I feel like I listened it to death back then, but always really enjoy coming back to it once in a while.
