Seven cholera pandemics have occurred in the past 200 years, with the seventh pandemic originating in Indonesia in 1961. Additionally, there have been many documented cholera outbreaks, such as a 1991-1994 outbreak in South America and, more recently, the 2016–19 Yemen cholera outbreak. Although much is known about the mechanisms behind the spread of cholera, this has not led to a full understanding of what makes cholera outbreaks happen in some places and not others.

Vol II: Patient Zero. Vol II: Patient Zero.

Your fear is what we feed on We feast, until our insides are exposed. Banished into darkness, severed wings thrown in the fire Torn from the back of a worthless liar, worthless liar You walk the earth with your head down in shame, with no one else but yourself to blame You can't remember the good but you remember the pain Standing behind the mirror, watching life bloom then wilt away Desperately wishing that it would. Dan Watson: This song Picks up where "Hollow Face left off. Following the story of the patient who hung herself in her cell. Her spirit is trapped in a dark realm. A dimension So close to ours, that she can see it, but not interfere with it’s course. Banished into Darknes. his is the dimension that the demons of the asylum roam. Only they aren’t demons. Or, at least, they used to be. They used to be patients too.

Patient zero" is still frequently used to describe index cases - the first documented cases of a disease observed or reported to health officials. Many scientists and public health officials are loath to identify those patients and avoid the term "patient zero" altogether, said Thomas Friedrich, an associate professor of pathobiological sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. More about 'Unseen Enemy'. For many infectious-disease pandemics, the primary case will never be known, said Dr. Ian Lipkin, a professor of epidemiology and director of the Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University in New York. It is not uncommon for infectious agents to percolate in the environment for years or even decades without detection," Lipkin said, adding that an agent could enter the human population in more than just one person.
