Evening - Other Victorians flac album

Their debut album "Other Victorians" is a complete masterpiece and unlike anything heard on Lookout! before. They are a band that defies genre. Their music works on many levels - rock, electronic, dance and punk all united by their intense energy and brilliant musicianship. The darkly grinding "Other Victorians" is a good debut for the San Francisco punk-dance-rock group Evening, although in places it falters. The panoramic riffs and twinkly computer effects are among the most solid moments, sounding like a mix of Radiohead, Grandaddy, and the best of prog and punk.

Evening's Other Victorians (Lookout) is a moody pastiche of lyrical non sequiturs, throbbing late-period Radiohead bass, and blended post-punk overtures with much of the grease and all of the gristle removed. As with most of the album, "Placing You Center" refuses to be hooky in the traditional sense. However, its slick piano-and-keyboard backing and screwed-down electric guitar breaks do seem to set up Matt Rist's vaguely Corgan-ish vocal come-on. Problem is, the song's ultimately an empty statement.

Evening Star is the second studio album by British musicians Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. It was recorded from 1974 to 1975 and released in December 1975. This album's recording and the preceding seven show European tour by the duo marked Fripp's first output after disbanding King Crimson and his last before temporarily retiring from music (at the time thought to be permanently) to study at the International Academy for Continuous Education in Sherborne House.
