Curtis Stigers è un cantante pop che ha debuttato nel 1991 con brani di grande appeal commerciale come "I Wonder Why," "Never Saw a Miracle" e "You're All That Matters to M. Per un decennio ha variato leggermente quel patinato blend di pop, soul, smooth jazz, folk e rock, fino ad abbracciare più decisamente il jazz all'inizio del nuovo millennio. Quasi tutto il disco è stato inciso dal vivo a Copenhagen nel gennaio 2014 con Stigers accompagnato dalla Danish Radio Big Band che rilegge gli originali arrangiamenti di Quincy Jones, Billy May e Nelson Riddle. Solo alcuni brani (come "The Lady Is a Tramp," "Summer Wind" e "They Can't Take That Away from Me") non erano presenti nel disco originale, pur appartenendo al repertorio di "The Voice. Curtis Stigers (born October 18, 1965) is an American jazz singer and musician. He achieved a number of hits in the early 1990s, most notably the international hit "I Wonder Why" (1991), which reached No. 5 in the UK and No. 9 in the US. Contents. On One More for the Road, Stigers finds his own version of that elusive Sinatra-Basie chemistry with the virtuosic and ebulliently swinging musicians of the Danish Radio Big Band. Recorded in the band’s headquarters, the acoustic marvel that is the DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen, the bristling live recording features the DRBB playing vibrant takes based on the original Nelson Riddle and Billy May arrangements, which can’t help but spark inspired vocal performances from Stigers.
