The Spider's Lullabye is the sixth studio album by King Diamond released in 1995. Unlike other King Diamond albums, it is not a full concept album. Only half the songs form a single plot. It was also the first King Diamond album to be released on the Metal Blade label. The Spider's Lullabye is the first album to feature guitarist Herb Simonsen, bassist Chris Estes and drummer Darrin Anthony. The album was remastered by Andy LaRocque and was re-released in 2009.

Band Name King Diamond. Album Name The Spider's Lullabye. Released date 06 June 1995. Labels Metal Blade Records. You've got it all here on The Spider's Lullaby. Some of Kings prettiest music with some of the ugliest Themes. The irony of beautiful music and vocals alternating with such ugly Themes as killers on death row, poltergeists, dreams from witches, spells, etc. On the second half of this album, the main Theme is a story about spiders and a mental patient. This whole album takes a humorous approach, but the talent and the beauty of the music make this an awesome album. This is classic King Diamond.

The Spider's Lullabye is perhaps the last of the 'essential' King Diamond records, or if not essential, then the last of the 'good' King Diamond albums for several years to come. err, webs, but there's enough money riffing here to save it from the flaming pits. The Spider's Lullabye doesn't involve quite as much vocal schizophrenia, but instead goes overboard instrumentally. Musically, this album is superb, and blends Heavy Metal with many horror/suspense elements near flawlessly. I'm not familiar at all with the guitar work of Andy LaRoque, but I'd compare a fair number of guitar riffs and solos here with those I've heard from Power Metal, and they perhaps even stray into the territory of neo-classicism.
