Album · 2019 · 1 Song. Latin Hymns: I. Miserere mei. Nadezhda Pavlova, Yurlov State Capella, Russian National Orchestra & Valentin Uryupin. 3. Latin Hymns: II. Ave Maria. 4. Latin Hymns: III. Salve Regina.

This is another in the Gostelradio series from MFSL, and it exhibits some distortion when things get wild in the midst of the second of two "Hymns Of Sudden Wafts," as well as some tape hiss from the original source. Other than that it's a typically excellent MFSL release. Artiomov is another of the experimental Russian composers currently working and gaining recognition for his efforts to track a course that depends as much on mathematical thought as it does on the physical and mental experience of music.

Vyacheslav Artyomov is considered by many to be Russia’s greatest living composer. His music is deep, ultimately spiritual and brilliantly crafted, with influences from the Russian symphonic tradition coloured by Mahler, Scriabin, Honegger and Messiaen to name a few – but melded into a unique voice. This is the tenth album, containing 2018 recordings of two majestic and brilliant works. The Symphony In Spe (In Hope) with concertante violin and cello broke new ground in Artyomov’s writing in its use of poly dynamic, ever-changing textures while retaining his deep spirituality. Latin Hymns presents four sacred texts in the most virtuosic writing for choir and soloist, not only prayers to the Virgin Mary but recreating her persona in music. The performance by Nadezhda Pavlova is simply stunning.

Redirected from Vyacheslav Artemov). Vyacheslav Petrovich Artyomov (Russian: Вячесла́в Петро́вич Артё́мов; born June 29, 1940 in Moscow) is a Russian and Soviet composer. Artyomov was preparing to become physicist, studying music at the same time. He finished the musical college affiliated to the Moscow Conservatory (composition class of A. Pirumov), then graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1968 where he studied composition with Nikolai Sidelnikov and piano with Tovi Logovinsky.

Recording an album with new works by outstanding Russian composer Vyacheslav Artyomov. Vyacheslav Artyomov is an outstanding Russian composer of the second half of the twentieth century and one of Khrennikov's Seven – a black list of Soviet composers who became subject to censorship in 1979 for their bold musical experiments and unwillingness to follow Party ideology. For many years, political circumstances andthe musical bureaucracy prevented the performance of Artyomov's works. for choir and orchestra, based on Latintexts) 1989–2003. The work includes four Latin prayers: Misereremei, Ave Maria, Salve Regina and Ave Maris Stella. Unlike most similar works, these works are not of a narrative nature and are performed more emotionallyand personally.

Vyacheslav, also transliterated Viacheslav or Viatcheslav, is a Russian and Ukrainian masculine given name. It is the equivalent of the Belarusian Вячаслаў/Вацлаў (transliterated Viačasłaŭ/Vacłaŭ), Croatian Vjenceslav, Czech Václav and Polish Wacław and Wieńczysław, which is Latinised as Wenceslaus. It is a Slavic dithematic name (that is, composed of two lexemes) derived from the Slavic words vyache, "great(er)", and slava, "glory, fame". A common short form is Slava.
