Eddie (also known as Eddie the Head) is the mascot for the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He is a perennial fixture of the group's artwork, appearing in all of their album covers (as well as most of their singles) and in their merchandise, which includes T-shirts, posters and action figures. On top of this, Eddie features in all of the band's concerts, as well as in the first-person shooter video game, Ed Hunter, and the role-playing game, Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast.

Here we meet young Ed in a simple street setting. When Iron Maiden brought back golden-era lead singer Bruce Dickinson after a seven-year absence for 2000's 'Brave New World,' it was only fitting that Derek Riggs also returned from a 10-year hiatus to present the cloud-based form of Eddie, looking down on all of us mere mortals in a very threatening manner.

For the passionately devoted Iron Maiden fan - and there are a lot out there - Eddie's Head is a treasure of sorts.

HD Iron Maiden Album Art 1980-2015. Apparently, this was the first rendition of the Maiden Japan, but the manager didn't approve. This is probably because vocalist Paul Di'Anno (pictured as a severed head) was actually in the process of being kicked from the band. Of course, this was kept a secret from Paul, and the manager felt that this artwork would be seen in bad taste once Paul was let go after the Maiden Japan tour. All copies were thought to have been destroyed.
