The album was met with criticism, not only for its performances-most of which were angry spoken-word tirades that Souljah screamed rather than traditional hip-hop rhymes-but also because of its controversial lyrics. The album reached on the Top R&B/Hip Hop album chart, selling a mere 27,000 copies.

Sister Souljah (born Lisa Williamson, on January 28, 1964 in Bronx, New York) is an American author, activist, recording artist, and film producer. She gained prominence for Bill Clinton's criticism of her remarks about race in the United States during the 1992 presidential campaign Contents. In 1992, she released her only album, 360 Degrees of Power. Sister Souljah moment. Souljah became infamous for her statements about the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

I loved that Sister Souljah was a character in her own book, as the voice of reason and the angel of the projects, saving lives and making a difference and showing the alternative path to a life of crime.

The album was supposed to be released in late 1989, but was pushed back to April 1990. The single "Bring the Noise" was a mix of semi-militant black power lyrics, grinding guitars, and sporadic humor. The two bands, cemented by a mutual respect and the personal friendship between Chuck D and Anthrax's Scott Ian, introduced a hitherto alien genre to rock fans, and the two seemingly disparate groups toured together. Sister Souljah (Lisa Williamson) – Minister of Information (took over Richard Griffin's place when Griffin left group). S1W. Jacob "Big Jake" Shankle.
