Grey Dawn was the second full release of death/doom metal band October Tide. This is the only October Tide release with Mårten Hansen in the band, and the last with Jonas Renkse. The album was reissued on 23 November 1999. All music composed by October Tide. All lyrics written by Mårten Hansen. Mårten Hansen – vocals. Fred Norrman – guitar, bass guitar. Jonas Renkse – drums, guitar.

October Tide was a side project of two members of Katatonia. Their first album, "Rain Without End" was brilliant. Dark, depressing and gloomy. Then "Grey Dawn" came out and though it does not surpass the debut, this album has amazing music. The voice is a dark growl, but not an agressive one like say Cannibal Corpse, but its more of a sad, heartfelt wail. The guitars are slow, and everytime the sound comes out of the speakers, it gets dark, cold and gloomy
