Smokin' Joe Kubek (November 30, 1956 – October 11, 2015) was an American Texas blues electric guitarist, songwriter and performer. Born in Grove City, Pennsylvania, Kubek grew up in the Dallas, Texas area.

Only 7 left in stock (more on the way). Bnois vocals are excellent throughout the entire album and the rhythm section plays its part in creating a fantastic sound. Having said that all the 10 songs included in this CD are equally good and that I don't think you will be tempted, during your listening, to skip any of them, I would like to mention "Standing in my door" a slow blues in which both of them have the opportunity to show us how their different styles could be blended together.

Unfortunately for Joe Kubek and his shotgun-riding singer/rhythm guitarist partner Bnois King, in the wake of great Texas guitarists like the Vaughan Brothers, just being a really good Lone Star fret slinger gets overlooked. Which is a shame, because over the course of nine albums, Kubek and King crafted a workmanlike if understated catalog of R&B-influenced roadhouse blues. On their debut for Blind Pig, the duo churn up more of the same fare they refined the previous 12 years.
