A pulsing, spooky score from Fiedel (who also scored The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day). A better score than the film it was written for, certainly.

Why is it a shame? Because, for a brief time, Fiedel was one of the best. His score to 'The Terminator' was excellent, but 'The Serpent and the Rainbow' was his crowning achievment. It still has flairs of the 'mechanical' approach that Fiedel pioneered on 'The Terminator', but he took scoring to a new level on 'Rainbow'.
