Greatest Hits is a second greatest hits album by American rapper Kool Moe Dee. It was released in 1993 through Jive Records, making it his first compilation album on the label. The album collects Kool Moe Dee's most popular singles recorded from 1986 to 1991 during his career with Jive Records and also contains four newly recorded songs: "Gimme My Props", "Look At Me Now", "Whosgotdaflava" and "Can U Feel It", which was also released as a single.

Mohandas Dewese (born August 8, 1962), better known by his stage name Kool Moe Dee, is an American hip hop MC prominent in the late 1970s through the early 1990s. He was one of the first rappers to earn a Grammy Award and was the first rapper to perform at the Grammys. One of Kool Moe Dee's first feats was being part of the first major rap battle in history. Kool Moe Dee's group Treacherous Three had disbanded two years prior, and he embarked on a solo career after leaving Sugar Hill Records and signing to Jive. The album is best remembered for the song "Go See the Doctor", a recount of how Dee received a sexually transmitted disease.

Kool Moe Dee released his second album, How Ya Like Me Now which was his most successful album commercially, achieving platinum status. He then went on to release his third album, Knowledge Is King in 1989, which went gold. In 1990 he performed on Quincy Jones’ album Back on the Block along with fellow rappers Melle Mel, Big Daddy Kane and Ice-T. The album gained considerable critical and financial success and winning the 1991 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Kool Moe Dee was born on August 8, 1962/3 as Mohandes Dewese. His early career began with his work with The Treacherous Three. After leaving the group he attended college in NY and received a degree in communications. He was also involved in one of the most infamous battles in history against Busy Bee. Kool Moe Dee kick started his solo career while he was still signed to Sugar Hill with T3, releasing the single Turn It Up and lending his writing talents the Sugar Hill Gang’s single The Down Beat (he also recorded his own version).
