It contains archival footage spanning the band's entire career, from the club days to the arenas. The documentary also utilizes insightful interviews from some of Seattle's most respected musicians including Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), Chad Channing (Nirvana), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Mark Arm (Mudhoney), Mark Felchtone (Zeke), and many others.

Following Tad's breakup, Doyle formed Hog Molly in 2001 with Willard bassist Ty Garcia and 50 Paces guitarist Martin Chandler, releasing the album Kung-Fu Cocktail Grip late the same year. Willard guitarist Mark Spiders had recommended Ty, and Martin in a conversation with Doyle. Tad later formed the band Hoof. A documentary of the band titled Busted Circuits and Ringing Ears was released in February 2008. In July 2009 taddoyle. com announced plans by Brothers of the Sonic Cloth to release a split 10" vinyl record with Seattle-area sludge metal band, Mico de Noche.

Busted Circuits and Ringing Ears documents all of that, plus the history of the band from its beginnings as Tad Doyle’s solo project in 1988 to full-borne quartet within a year. Most of Tad’s ex-members are interviewed, with the core of Doyle and Kurt Danielson providing most of the insights, but the DVD also includes interviews with Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, Krist Novoselic and Chad Channing from Nirvana, Mark Arm of Mudhoney, and Sub Pop cofounders Jonathan Poneman and Bruce Pavitt. But in other ways, it’s not. One of the most likable aspects of this documentary - and the members of Tad themselves - is that they’ve gotten on with their lives.
