The Big Picture is the twenty-fifth studio album by British singer-songwriter Elton John, released in 1997. It includes four worldwide singles: "Live Like Horses" (a duet with Luciano Pavarotti only for the single version), "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" (released as a double A-side with "Candle in the Wind 1997"), "Recover Your Soul" and "If the River Can Bend".

The Big Picture" was my first Elton John album. It was a gift to me when I was 19. I had just moved into my own apartment and I spent many evenings just absorbing the notes and words from this album. My interest in John's music had risen substantially since "The Lion King" and the radio single "Something About the Way You Look Tonight". I had been raised on primarily faith-based music and this was an eye-opener

The Big Picture finds Elton John in strong form, turning in a by-now-predictable collection of ballads and pop songs designed to appeal to the adult contemporary audience. The difference is inspiration. With Made in England, John and his collaborator Bernie Taupin showed signs of life, and they continue that winning streak here.
